It’s hard to believe that in just a few days it will be September (where did the summer go?). Autumn is just around the corner, bringing with it its usual flurry of golden hues. I adore this time of the year. There’s nothing better than a quiet stroll in the woods on a still, bright autumn day. I can hardly wait to feel the crunch of fallen leaves under my feet.
Autumn offers plenty of photographic opportunities too. All those reds and browns are a spectacular sight on a sunny autumn afternoon. And don’t forget those misty autumn mornings that transform our woodlands into a magical fairytale-like landscape.
I enjoy taking photos of plants and flowers at this time of year. The decaying petals and leaves make a thoroughly interesting image, which can often look more stunning than a plant in full foliage. I made the most of a recent family day out to take a few quick pics of some flowers that have already begun to shed their petals. You can view some of my photos here.
