Paint Party Friday - Just for Fun

Considering what day it is, and the part of the world I call home, most folk would probably expect me to post a drawing emblazoned with shamrocks, or leprechauns or something similar today. But I’m not. I’ll see enough of those as it is.

Instead, I’ve decided to post a couple of  drawings which I did in my journal this week just for a bit of fun. I used my Inktense pencils and a water-brush for both drawings. When I use Inktense pencils I don't do any sketching, I just dive in and see what happens. I find working like this very relaxing, and I think it's a great way to loosen up those creative muscles.

The first is based on my aquarium, where I keep a variety of Mollies. Mind you, the fish in the drawing looks nothing like any of those.

The second is based on my local park, where I sometimes take a walk.

Hope you like them, and hope you have a great weekend.

  8. I love your color combos in both paintings. Amazing that you can plan a scene without actually drawing it before you paint it! Maybe your Molly is actually a shark! LOL!

    1. Thank you, Gloria, for you kind words. Oddly enough, I thought it looked like a shark too when I'd finished.
